NATIONAL CERTIFICATE NQF 4: TOURIST GUIDING
Description
The programme will enable National Tourist Guiding to plan, prepare and conduct a guide experience. The guiding skills will be complemented with competencies such as functioning as part of a team, organizing oneself in the workplace and interrogating orally and writing. The guide will need to demonstrate a good general knowledge of the country and excellent presentation skills as well as applying customer care
Programme Purpose
- This qualification is a step in a planned learning pathway that underpins a career in tourist guiding and will enhance career path progression within the Tourist Guiding Industry as it addresses the skill and competencies enabling the qualifying and registration as a Tourist Guide to access employment opportunities in the industry and Tourist Guiding sector in South Africa.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of NQF level 3 Literacy and good communication skills are recommended. It is also advisable that delegates have some prior experience in guiding and a sound knowledge based on conversation/Culture Guiding as well as Matric certificate.
